We Defend
We are dedicated to advancing a safe and conducive operating environment for Human Rights Defenders(HRDs) and Journalists in Malawi. Driven and founded on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information, Freedom of Association and Freedom of Assembly. Our goal is to timely monitor, respond to and address threats and attacks on Malawian HRDs and Journalists. All information you provide will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and respect, ensuring your anonymity.
Our Focus
#MTETEZI is a digital platform dedicated to protecting the rights of journalists and human rights defenders in Malawi. If you are facing threats, intimidation, or other violations because of your work, MTETEZI provides a secure space to report these incidents anonymously.
Our mission is to safeguard press freedom and civic space by ensuring that threats against journalists and human rights defenders are documented, amplified, and addressed. #MTETEZI connects victims with advocacy groups and legal entities to ensure reported cases receive the necessary attention and action.
